(NEXSTAR) – Super Bowl LX won't be a repeat of last year for several reasons. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles won't be competing for the Lombardi Trophy, for example. Another familiar face will also not be at the Super Bowl: President Donald Trump. He's been at several sporting events in recent years, including last year's Daytona 500 and the New York Yankees game on Sept. 11. Trump attended Super Bowl LIX, as well, becoming the first sitting president to do so. Trump had traveled to Palm Beach, Florida, before flying to New Orleans for the game at the Caesars Superdome. He waved to fans, shook hands with Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, and participated in a meet-and-greet with this year’s honorary coin toss participants, including family members of victims in the New Year’s attack in New Orleans, city police officers and other emergency personnel before heading to his suite. He isn't expected to be spotted in a suite at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LX next month, however. While speaking with the New York Post last week, Trump said he will not attend this year's Big Game. "It’s just too far away. I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me," he said, according to the outlet. "I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter." A direct flight from the District of Columbia to San Jose is a little over six hours, plus some drive time (Air Force One flies out of Joint Base Andrews, about 15 miles from the White House, while Levi's Stadium is in Santa Clara, about five miles from San Jose International Airport). For comparison, the recent flight Trump made to Switzerland takes about eight hours, though his flight took longer after Air Force One was forced to turn around for a "minor electrical issue." Super Bowl LX will kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 8.
