(NEXSTAR) – Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk is convinced that Sam Darnold's time has come. The 52-year-old, now the head football coach at Southern University and an entrepreneur, told Nexstar he doesn't want to take anything away from the Patriots and coach Mike Vrabel, who he says has done a "great, great job," but his mind is made up. "I just I like what I see on the [Seahawks] defensive side, and Sam Darnold, he exorcised demons, man, to watch him against the Rams not have a turnover, and the Rams are his nemesis," Faulk said. "Stafford was out there balling and he held his own ... he made sure he held serve every time he moved his team down. He didn't make the big mistakes. I just think I just think it's in the cards for him." Aside from the brilliance of Darnold, who will be playing on the same field where he spent a season as the 49ers' back-up quarterback, Faulk says there's another key to a Super Bowl LX victory on Feb. 8. "I'm just going with the more veteran team ... a team that's been together a little bit longer," Faulk said. "Them Birds, man ... I'm going with Seattle."
